Great Success of Our Students in the International Symposium of Schools of Applied Arts of the Liberec Region
Our glass school reached an outstanding success in the Symposium of Schools of Applied Arts of the Liberec Region. The Symposium has been held already three times at the Liberec region schools from Saturday, Sept. 18 to Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010. In the framework of the symposium, our school provided for the students a workshop of lighting objects and a glass cutting and engraving workshop. In the symposium, our school was represented by students Daniela Chodilová and Matyáš Hruška in the lighting objects workshop, Matěj Macháček and ndrea Holíková in the glass cutting and engraving workshop, Linda Ralbovská in the hot shop in Železný Brod and Filip Hortenský worked in the same school in the mould melted glass workshop. At SUPŠ in Turnov our school was represented by a student Pavel Výtisk in the forging workshop.
The prime prize in the Mould Melted Glass category was won by our student Filip Hortenský. The prime prize in the Glass Engraving and Cutting category was won by our student Matěj Macháček, who was also awarded prize by the patron Moser Crystal a.s. Karlovy Vary for his cut sculpture. Our student Matyáš Hruška won a prize by the Precioza Lustry Kamenický Šenov company for his lighting object. One of the prizes awarded by the patrons of the forging workshop, was also won by the student Pavel Výtisk. Of seven our students, who participated in the symposium, four won a prize. Congratulations on all our students and thanks for the outstanding representation of the school! Also the first prize in the Lighting Objects category was won by our graduate Adam Beránek. Awarding took place in the municipal theatre in Nový Bor and the ceremonial opening of the exhibition of the symposium results was held in the Glass Museum Nový Bor. The exhibition will be opened by Oct. 24, 2010.
