Glass Art Prize Gletscherprise 2008
On Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 festive prize awarding was held in the Glass Museum in Frauenau, Germany, connected with the opening of the participating works. The prize is set by a Bavarian company Pöschl Tabak. This year, also glass artists from Czechia were invited to the competition for the first time. The theme was snuff bottles. In the competition also a student of the engraving department of our school Tomáš Mikš and the head of the engraving department Ladislav Průcha. On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 there was the opening of the exhibition Old Snuff Bottles in Bohemia in the Glass Museum in Frauenau. A group of guests from Nový Bor and Kamenický Šenov took part in the event, among them e.g. the mayor of the Kamenický Šenov town Ota Raiter and the headmaster of SUPŠS František Janák.
