IGS Nový Bor
From October 11 to 15, 2006 there was held the 9th International Glass Symposium at Nový Bor. The symposium has been already for many years one of the most important events of its kind in the world. In this year´s symposium a number of important artistic personalities from both inland and abroad participated. As an active participant also a student of the 4th year of the SUPŠS Kamenický Šenov, department glass cutting Petr Slavík was invited and during the symposium he created a glass object of blown and overlayed glass.
During the symposium our school was visited by an American delegation headed by the secretary of the Glass Art Society Mrs. Pamela Koss. Among other visitors there were a glass artist Charlie Parriot from Seattle and Steve Gibbs, a manager of the glass museum in Corning. The headmaster František Janák showed the delegation the school and they visited the glass museum Kamenický Šenov where admired students´ works and an exhibition of historical glass. Members of the delegation expressed their admiration to the quality of works of our students.
